No Output or Response MOST COMMON

If you click on a feature (Answer, Explain, Summarize, etc.) and nothing happens, or the sidebar opens but shows no response, you're likely experiencing one of these issues:

Most Likely Cause: Free Plan Limit Reached

If you're on the Free plan, you have a limit of 5 AI requests per day. Once you hit this limit, the extension will stop producing output until your limit resets (24 hours later).

Other Possible Solutions:

  1. Refresh the page - Sometimes a simple page refresh resolves temporary connection issues
  2. Check your internet connection - Ensure you have a stable internet connection
  3. Try a different website - Some sites with strict security policies may block extensions
  4. Reinstall the extension - Remove and reinstall from the Chrome Web Store
  5. Clear browser cache - Clear your Chrome cache and try again

Extension Not Working on Certain Websites

Some websites have strict Content Security Policies (CSP) that prevent extensions from injecting scripts or making external API calls.

Solutions:

  • Try a different website - The extension works on most sites, but some banking sites, government portals, and high-security sites may restrict extensions
  • PDF files - The extension currently doesn't work on locally saved PDFs. Use web-based PDFs or copy text to use with the extension
  • Chrome internal pages - Extensions cannot run on chrome:// URLs (settings, extensions page, etc.)

Sidebar Not Opening or Closing Unexpectedly

The AI Sidebar may not open or may close when you interact with the page.

Solutions:

  1. Click the extension icon in your Chrome toolbar to open/close the sidebar
  2. Use the keyboard shortcut - Press Ctrl+Shift+S (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+S (Mac) to toggle the sidebar
  3. Pin the extension - Click the puzzle icon in Chrome toolbar, then click the pin icon next to Simply Work AI for easy access
  4. Disable conflicting extensions - Other extensions may interfere; try disabling them temporarily

Slow Response Times

AI responses are taking longer than expected to appear.

Solutions:

  • Check your plan - Free and Basic plans have standard processing priority. Upgrade to Premium or Platinum for higher priority and faster responses.
  • Complex prompts - Long text or complex questions take longer to process. Try breaking up long text into smaller sections.
  • Internet speed - A slower connection can delay responses
  • Server load - During peak hours, response times may be slightly longer

Account or Login Issues

Problems with account access, subscription status, or authentication.

  1. Check your subscription - Visit your account page to verify your plan status

Extension Successfully Installed But Not Visible

You installed the extension but can't see it or access it.

Solutions:

  1. Pin the extension to your toolbar:
    • Click the puzzle icon 🧩 in your Chrome toolbar (top right)
    • Find "Simply Work AI" in the list
    • Click the pin icon 📌 next to it
  2. Check Chrome extensions page: Type chrome://extensions in your address bar and ensure Simply Work AI is enabled
  3. Refresh any open tabs after installation for the extension to activate
